三者都是法律術(shù)語(yǔ)，基本含義都是證明、認(rèn)可。

區(qū)別在于：

notarize譯為 公證；

certify譯為 認(rèn)證；

legalize譯為 合法化或者公認(rèn)；

懂法律的人現(xiàn)在就看得出區(qū)別了：

在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中，人們往往將公證與認(rèn)證混同，認(rèn)為兩者是相同的。其實(shí)兩者有一定的聯(lián)系，但并不是相同的。

所謂公證是公證機(jī)構(gòu)根據(jù)自然人、法人或者其他組織的申請(qǐng)，依照法定程序?qū)γ袷路尚袨椤⒂蟹梢饬x的事實(shí)和文書的真實(shí)性、合法性予以證明的活動(dòng)。而認(rèn)證是指外交、領(lǐng)事機(jī)關(guān)在經(jīng)過公證證明的文書上（或在其他組織的證明文書上），證明公證機(jī)構(gòu)或認(rèn)證機(jī)關(guān)（包括本國(guó)和外國(guó)的外交、領(lǐng)事機(jī)關(guān)）的最后一個(gè)簽名或印章屬實(shí)的活動(dòng)。亦稱"外交認(rèn)證"或"領(lǐng)事認(rèn)證"。其目的，是使該文書發(fā)生域外的法律效力。
