本周讀到第11章，Secrets，秘密。竟還是個復數(shù)。

有多少個秘密？是什么樣的秘密？帶著問題初讀全章。

雖然本章有8頁，但大多是對話，于是大約15分鐘之后，基本上都讀好了，也找到了答案。

Jo有一個秘密，Laurie也有一個秘密。把你的秘密告訴我，我就告訴你我的秘密。

兩個幼稚鬼，但讀起來忍不住要會心一笑。

…I’d like to tell you a secret. 

But Laurie wouldn’t tell until she explained what she had been doing in town. 

So Jo said that she had been at the newspaper office and  left two of her stories with the editor. 

前一章castles in the air，空中樓閣，大家剛剛討論過自己的夢想。Jo的夢想，即是當一位作家。

說干就干，她一直在努力。本章一開頭便是寫好了兩份稿子偷偷帶去鎮(zhèn)上找報社編輯。 

作為交換，Laurie也告訴了她一個秘密，卻不是關(guān)于自己的，而是關(guān)于Jo的大姐Meg: 

He said that he knew where to find Meg’s lost glove, whispering that he saw it in Mr. Brooke’s pocket. “Isn’t it romantic?”

之前Meg落了一雙手套在Larie家里，回頭收到的卻只有一只。原來是被Laurie的家庭教師Mr. Brooke藏起來了。之前Mrs March在Meg收到Brooke為她翻譯的德語詩時就懷疑有段愛情在醞釀，而這只手套，坐實了至少有一方是心中有情的。Laurie覺得何其有趣，分享給Jo這個秘密后還忍不住加上一句：不覺得很浪漫嗎？

不，不，一點也不浪漫。Jo一聽，幾乎要炸了。這世上她最不愿意看見的事，便是姐妹們長大，各自嫁人，一家人從此散落天涯。

"No. It's horrid." She hated the idea of someone taking Meg away from the family. 

The last thing she wanted was for her sister to grow up and get married. 

似乎孩子們長大的過程中必然要經(jīng)歷這樣的一個階段。很小的時候，孩子們自然是迫切地期望自己長大的。但到半大不大的時候，開始青春期的時候，似乎又會害怕起來。Peter Pan大概也是因為這樣而廣受喜愛。忽然害怕長大。希望自己可以永遠不會長大。希望父母不會老去，希望家人永遠能呆在一起。

所以倒霉的Mr. Brooke, 從此上了Jo的黑名單，被當成一名入侵者一樣防范，并粗魯?shù)財硨χ?/p>

這樣想想，撞在**口上表白的Laurie也是倒霉,他沒有耐心等到Jo開始對長大這件事情有新的看法，便冒冒然地開口，無怪乎慘遭拒絕。

但是，也不是不喜歡。只是，那不是正確的時候。

也許也跟作者有關(guān)。據(jù)說作者一輩子未婚，是不折不扣的不婚主義者。這個故事里，愛情所占的份量也便極為有限。至少跟親情相比，幾乎完全不值一提。雖然最后有各自的姻緣，但也許只是作者為了迎合一下大眾的口味罷了。

所以不必太計較。不必太耿耿于懷。至少作者的生命中，似乎并沒有這樣的一個缺憾。
