十年前，位于京畿道的花谷里村曾接連不斷發(fā)生殘忍的**連環(huán)案。村民們漸漸離開此地，村莊變成了荒涼的廢墟，甚至連警察也放棄了此案的追查。兩年后，此地再未發(fā)生此類案件，往昔的慘景也漸漸被遺忘，村民們開始回歸，警察也認(rèn)為這里是安全之地。

1998年韓國曾推出一部以世紀(jì)末為背景的超自然魔幻動作**《退魔錄》，十年后，《神賦予的任務(wù)》充滿紀(jì)念意義地誕生了。與《退魔錄》不同，《神賦予的任務(wù)》中的魔幻故事發(fā)生在當(dāng)代韓國社會。片中反面角色殺人、強(qiáng)女千、綁架、誘拐無惡不作，化名“湯”的惡靈。為了拯救岌岌可危的社會秩序，神勇的獵鬼人崔江與“湯”展開了激烈的搏斗。

構(gòu)想影片之初導(dǎo)演樸熙俊并沒有計(jì)劃請一位人氣巨星來擔(dān)任崔江一角，但這名演員必須要符合外貌英俊、身手矯健等條件。后來，通過熟人介紹，新生代偶像明星在熙讀過了劇本，并被該劇緊湊的情結(jié)、新穎的風(fēng)格深深吸引，最后同意出演崔江一角。這位頻頻亮相偶像劇，又在《空房間》、《格斗術(shù)》等影片中大展拳腳的年輕演員決定用這部魔幻力作作為赴軍隊(duì)服役前的告別表演。

影片女主角由新一代萬人迷**——劉多仁擔(dān)綱。這位因**脫穎而出的年輕女藝人現(xiàn)在幾乎是韓國**界無人不曉的人氣明星，據(jù)說沒有哪個男人不拜倒于她的甜美微笑。2005年，劉出演了電視劇《餅干老師星星糖》、《愛情需要奇跡》，2006年又參演了KBS劇集《為了年輕的街坊》等作品，并在當(dāng)年挑戰(zhàn)了首部銀幕處女作——恐怖片《灰姑娘》。

1984年出生的劉多仁在《神賦予的任務(wù)》中出演命運(yùn)多舛的巫女。這位戴著面紗的神秘女子擁有這世上唯一可以捕捉惡靈的攝像機(jī)。為了擺脫詛咒，這位名叫“申”的女記者和惡靈“湯”展開了對決。

·本片在2008年10月釜山**節(jié)上僅以風(fēng)格獨(dú)特的海報(bào)就吸引海外買家在內(nèi)的多方目光，未映先熱。

·影片在制作方面可謂絞盡了腦汁。片中惡靈“湯”附體于人類和獵鬼人搏斗的CG場面眾多，導(dǎo)致后期制作十分復(fù)雜，導(dǎo)演樸熙俊索性親力親為操刀剪輯。影片劇情部分使用常規(guī)鏡頭拍攝，遇到動作場面則大量使用快速剪接。大量的編輯工作使樸熙俊不得不忍痛割愛了部分音樂的創(chuàng)作。

·拍攝過程中演員的敬業(yè)精神也得到了劇組成員的一致贊賞。拍攝動作片時演員或劇組成員負(fù)傷掛彩是再正常不過的事情。《神賦予的任務(wù)》也發(fā)生了多起“傷事”，特別是拒用替身，全程親力親為的在熙在拍攝過程中更是險象環(huán)生，令動作指導(dǎo)和劇組人員著實(shí)捏了一把汗。

·在一場追擊惡靈“湯”的戲中，小巷的地面因?yàn)榉e雪異常濕滑，NG四五次后導(dǎo)演要求演員盡力做好最后一次，就在這次拍攝中，在熙傷到了自己的腳，為了保證拍攝進(jìn)程，他隱瞞了自己的傷勢，直到最后實(shí)在支持不住，導(dǎo)演親自為他脫去鞋子才發(fā)現(xiàn)傷勢嚴(yán)重。在場工作人員無不為其職業(yè)精神所感動。

·劇組的美術(shù)服裝部在接到劇本后傷透了腦筋，因?yàn)檎l也不知道所謂的“捉鬼攝像機(jī)”該是個什么模樣。服裝組也為主人公崔江和惡靈“湯”的另類服飾考量了許久。多次研討會后，大家決定為崔江設(shè)計(jì)一個獨(dú)特的發(fā)型，和一件皮草長披風(fēng)。至于惡靈“湯”則頂著一頭紅發(fā)，身穿類似修道士的服裝。

·服裝問題解決后輪到了最撓頭的道具。大家對片中崔江使用的武器和可以看到魔怪的“捉鬼攝像機(jī)”都顯得沒有任何頭緒。和樸熙俊導(dǎo)演合作過處女作《天使夢》的美術(shù)指導(dǎo)最后以1940年德國制造的一架手持?jǐn)z像機(jī)為靈感，設(shè)計(jì)了現(xiàn)在片中使用的“捉鬼攝像機(jī)”。至于崔江使用的武器則是他親自設(shè)計(jì)并用鐵打造出的利劍。所有道具最大程度借鑒了過去的物品，充滿了濃濃的懷舊感。
